This homemade caramel popcorn is the perfect quick and easy snack for movie night or for a holiday gathering. I love that it takes minimal time and ingredients. My first attempt at making this was a complete fail! I burned my finger on the caramel and burned the popcorn in the bag. It turned into a solid black chunk! I’m not sure what went wrong but today I opted to cook it in a bowl instead of a brown paper bag and it turned out perfectly! This recipe turns out perfectly crunchy and is not at all sticky!

Tips for Perfect Caramel Popcorn
You can use any type of popcorn for this recipe. I love to pop our popcorn in coconut oil in the Stir Crazy.
If you are using homemade popcorn pour the popcorn onto a cooling rack, so the un popped kernels fall through. This makes it so quick and easy to separate them.
Use nonstick/silicone utensils to make cleanup a breeze! The caramel sauce can become hard and be tough to wash off other utensils. Anything to make clean up easier, right?!
Watch very closely during the cooking process and be sure to stir very well after each minute increment to prevent burning.
In the rare case that you have leftovers they can be stored in an air tight container for up to one week.
