onepanspaghettipizzapasta

When spaghetti and pizza come together in one dish, how can it not be good? This is a one pan pasta recipe you will want to be making on repeat! It is filled with all the best pizza toppings, our homemade pizza sauce, and lots of cheese! What really takes our spaghetti pizza pasta recipe to another level is the garnish. We top it with a drizzle of hot honey and chili flakes. This makes it insanely good!

How to Make One Pan Pasta

Our one pan pasta recipe is one of the simplest meals to make. It it perfect for a busy week night because it takes minimal prep time. Start by browning your Italian sausage and chopping your veggies. The recipe calls for red onion and green pepper, but you can customize the recipe to add your favorite pizza toppings such as olives or jalapeños.

Prep the Pasta

Next, you will lay the spaghetti in the bottom of a greased casserole dish. Then you will pour some olive oil over the noodles and be sure to cover them evenly with it to prevent the noodles from sticking together. After that you will need plenty of liquid to cover the noodles so they can cook and don’t get dried out. The liquid includes chicken broth and pizza sauce. We use our homemade pizza sauce which we highly recommend, but if you are short on time store bought sauce works great as well!

Once the noodles and liquid are in the pan you will add Italian seasoning, Italian sausage, pepperoni, and the chopped veggies. You can use any type of meat in the pasta. Salami or Canadian bacon would be great substitutes for the pepperoni.

The pasta is now ready to bake! Don’t worry you will add cheese later! Cover the dish with foil and bake it for forty five minutes. Then you will prepare some garlic for roasting. Cut the top off the garlic, set it in a piece of foil and drizzle with olive oil and salt. Wrap the garlic tightly and air fry for 20 minutes at 390. If you don’t have an air fryer you can simply set the garlic in the oven next to the pasta while it cooks.

Time to Bake

Take the pasta out halfway through cooking time and give it a stir. When the pasta is done cooking you will add the roasted garlic, and top it with pizza blend cheese and fresh mozzarella. Return the pasta to the oven for ten more minutes or until the cheese is nice and melty! When the pasta is done in the oven you can serve it up and top it with hot honey, chili flakes, and parmesan cheese! Your kids will most likely prefer it without the spicy toppings, but we highly recommend adding it your own! Now its time to enjoy your new favorite week night meal!

What is the best pasta to use?

You can use any type of pasta in this dish! Longer, thinner pasta will cook faster than thicker, short pasta, so you will need to adjust cooking times accordingly. The spaghetti in this one pan pasta recipe cooks to be perfectly al dente. If you decide to use a short pasta check the pasta before you add the cheese and add more time if necessary.
